What is a theme?
In order to bring
some clarity and detail to the overarching aims, the Tower Hamlets
Community Plan is split into four themes:
Each of these themes represents a portion of
what the Partnership is working towards, although none of them are
mutually exclusive; indeed, much of the work of the Partnership
covers two, three or occasionally even all four of these
themes.
One Tower Hamlets
In addition to these themes there is also one
underlying concept throughout the Plan, that of One Tower Hamlets.
One Tower Hamlets describes a borough where
everyone has an equal stake and status; where people have the same
opportunities as their neighbours, where people have a
responsibility to contribute; and where families are the
cornerstone of success.
One Tower Hamlets also means bringing
different parts of the community together, encouraging positive
relationships and tackling divisions between communities – as well
as providing strong leadership, involving people and giving them
the tools and support to improve their lives.
